This is a reminder of the issues to consider regarding your equipment (and the data on it) when it has technical problems and is in our care.

Care of your equipment

IT Strategic will take the utmost care in our work in repairing and/or maintaining your device.

While in our office, your equipment is fully insured for replacement value.

While in transit with a courier that we’ve organised, we will take responsibility for liaising with the courier company for tracking and following up with them, and for remedying any issues that might occur with the device while in transit. However, your equipment is only insured to the extent of the courier company’s terms while in transit.

Data Security

We take this opportunity to remind you that the best-practice to secure data stored on your device is with encrypted storage. Encrypted data storage ensures that, even were your computer to be lost or stolen, no one can access the data on it.

While your computer is with us:

  • Only staff working on the device will have access to it

  • Your computer will be stored in a separately locked room when not being worked on

  • All staff are aware of the need for protecting the confidentiality of your data

  • The office (and the separately locked room) is monitored 24X7 by us as well a commercial monitoring service

Despite these precautions, we still recommend the optimum means of securing your data – encryption.

Robust, secure access to your data

While working on your device we will take the utmost care to avoid deleting or damaging stored data. However, in many circumstances, we cannot guarantee the comprehensive retention of all of your data.

We recommend secure real-time backup to the cloud. Where your data is backed up at all times, were you to lose or damage your device – or were we to lose data in the process of our work – you would have all of your data stored independently of the device.

Alternatively, if you’re concerned about any data on your device checkin in with us about a manual backup. If your device is in a state that allows us to assist we can perform a backup for you.
